Have you ever wondered what if the world was made of cubes where you can build anything you want?
Someone else did and invented an amazing video game called Minecraft.
Its creator Notch describes it as a game about “placing blocks while running from skeletons. Or something like that..” Ah, why skeletons? -)
It’s because it’s also a very dangerous world when it’s dark: each night it fills with cubical monsters such as zombies, skeletons, creepers and more!
The game gives you an entire world to explore which is 8 times the size of the Earth! It allows you to build structures which you wouldn’t have a chance to build in real life. Minecraft has its own laws of physics and you can let your imagination go crazy. Your creations will stay unless you choose to burn them or destroy with your hands.

In this blog post I want to share one of my creations. It’s the Door Of The Rising Sun (and Moon) I built:
It’s almost a perfect copy of the doors you can make in the game. Only, it’s huge and has a door in it:
See the square moon rising through my door:
That thing you see in the water is a floating pig. And these are weird birds which are made of ducks and chickens.
By the way, you can ride a pig in this game if you put a saddle on it.
The door reaches the clouds and I can climb on top of it using this ladder:

Below is the path made of wool and stone which leads to my door with torches and cacti on the sides.
I feel a very calming satisfaction when I mine through the earth and stone in this game, finding caves with lava and water in them. And as it’s always dark in those caves, I’m never gonna be alone – there’ll always be someone creeping out of the darkness.
That’s who appears at night.
These are my favorites:
They are harmless in daylight.
All monsters here look funny in a way:
This one with a horribly sad face is a creeper – it silently creeps behind you and explodes. May be that’s why it’s so sad.
And, finally, sunrise (just like a sunset) is very nice in this game.
It’s so calming to watch these clouds pass by and be safe on the top waiting for the square sun to rise…
